A five fold increase has been noted in the number of people attending the festival organised by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.

The festival saw 912 expatriates register themselves with the LMRA on day one. "In the past couple of days the total number of people who submitted their information, including fingerprints and digital signatures was more than 10,200," an LMRA official said.

The number of expatriate employees registered so far has reached 38,339. These include 25,677 Indians, 6,348 Bangladeshis, 2,112 Pakistanis, 1,102 Filipinos, 1,069 Sri Lankans, 1,040 Nepali nationals and 991 people of other nationalities.
