Jewellery Arabia 2004 will be officially inaugurated under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre at 09.30 am. tomorrow.
The 13th exhibition in this prestigious series welcomes the participation of over 500 companies from around the world. Collectively they form the region's largest ever display of luxury watches; diamond, gem-set, gold and silver jewellery estimated at a value of US$ 1 billion.
The Jewellery Arabia series is carefully crafted to cater to the requirements of the discerning Middle Eastern jewellery market, providing industry professionals and private buyers from throughout the region with the opportunity to view exciting new products, ideas and jewellery designs. Amongst the many exhibitors set to unveil their latest collections are such renowned jewellery houses as Cartier, Chopard, Graff Diamonds, Harry Winston,
Patek Phillipe, Piaget and Van Cleef & Arpels.
They will be joined by a host of international pavilions from leading export countries including Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Korea, Thailand and Turkey. For the first time at Jewellery Arabia there will also be an official Brazil pavilion sponsored and coordinated by the Brazilian Gems and Jewellery Trade Association.
A strong Lebanese and GCC contingent drawn from the region's most exclusive jewellers compliment this line up including Al Mahmood Pearls, Al Zain, Chaar, Damas, Devji Jewellers, Georges Hakim, Hanna Freres, Mahallati, and Samra.
Also among them are Bahrain's leading jewellers - Bahrain Jewellery Centre, Taqi?s Jewellery and Asia Jewellers - who will be bringing together stunning collections of famous international brands in boutique formats.
Retail packaging, merchandising material and jewellery manufacturing machinery and technology will also play an important part in the exhibition.
In addition to the dazzling array of luxury items from around the world on display at Jewellery Arabia 2004, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India are set to stage a gala jewellery fashion show under the theme "Ayoun Al Ghaneda (Mysterious Eyes)" on October 7 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. International models will display the collections of forty two of India's leading gem and jewellery manufacturers and traders.
Last year's show experienced a 15% increase in visitors, attracting a record total of 25,178 jewellery trade buyers and private collectors.
The exhibition's high quality profile and enthusiastic consumer following continues to reflect the region's passion for fine jewellery, which has succeeded in creating the world?s largest and most dynamic jewellery market worth more than $30 billion per annum according to World Gold Council statistics.
Since its inauguration in 1992, Jewellery Arabia has firmly established itself as the biggest and most prestigious
jewellery exhibition in the Middle East.
