The keys to 100 renovated houses are to be returned to their owners today by the Royal Charity Organisation (ROC) and the Ministry of Municipalities.

The homes will be handed over to the beneficiaries during a ceremony that will be held at Gulf Hotel under the patronage of President of the ROC Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

This is the first group of houses to be completed out of a batch of 1,000 homes being renovated under the Housing Rehabilitation Programme being undertaken by the ROC in cooperation with the ministry.

In comments to Bahrain News Agency yesterday, Minister of Municipalities and Agricultural Affairs, Dr. Jumaa bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, explained that the handing over of these 100 houses marks the completion of the first phase of the project which ill seek to rebuild 1,000 homes.

He added that the Housing Rehabilitation Programme is one of the most important charitable projects being implemented under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The minister lauded the efforts of the ROC, led by Shaikh Nasser, in providing additional support to the programme.

The ceremony will include speeches by Minister Dr. Al Kaabi, Secretary General of the RCO Mustafa Al Sayed, and head of the Manama Municipal Council Majeed Milad.

The ceremony will also include an exhibition which will showcase the achievements of the programme.
