MUSCAT -- Badr al Samaa group of Hospitals, as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, organised a continuing medical education programme (CME) on recently which was a huge success. The event was conducted by Badr al Samaa, Al Khoud branch, and presided over by the top management of Badr al Samaa Group. Abdul Latheef, Managing Director of Badr al Samaa Group, in welcoming speech emphasised the need of CME's to update the medical fraternity of the latest advancements happening in the medical field around the globe, and Badr al Samaa's commitment in organising such events.

The topics covered were Cardiac Emergencies -- An Overview by Dr S N Sharma -- Sr Cardiologist, Badr Al Samaa, Al Khoud branch; The Art of Plastic Surgery by Dr Taimoor al Balushi -- Sr Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Badr Al Samaa, Al Khoud branch; and Othopaedic Fracture Management by Dr Rajiv Sunny -- Orthopaedic Surgeon in Badr Al Samaa, Al Khuwair branch.

Dr Sharma highlighted the current and latest methods of treating cardiac emergencies and stressed the need of early action on the part of referring doctors to save lives from sudden death. Dr Taimoor gave a detailed presentation on the evolution of plastic surgery as a super specialty and its present role in various aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries. Dr Rajiv Sunny discussed the latest techniques in Orthopaedic fracture management, with details of various patients treated at Badr al Samaa hospitals.

Dr Rajan K Cherian, ENT Senior specialist Badr al Samaa, Al Khoud, proposed vote of thanks. Senior doctors from Badr al Samaa group gave mementos to the speakers as a token of gratitude and appreciation for their brilliant work and dedication.
