MUSCAT -- Amanie Advisors, a globally recognised Shariah advisory firm in the field of Islamic finance is proud to announce a series of eight workshops to cover the field of Islamic finance, the first of which is to be held from April 29-30, 2013. Highlighting the need for increased knowledge in the banking industry for Islamic finance, Fahad al Khalili (pictured), Executive Partner of Amanie House of Advisory Oman said, "At Advisory House of Oman, we recognise the importance of bringing specialised knowledge, especially in the Islamic finance sector -- to the Sultanate. The objective of this intensive programme is to train banking and finance employees and enhance their understanding of the different areas within Islamic banking and finance,"

He added, "At the conclusion of each module, we are confident that participants will be well prepared with a solid knowledge of Islamic banking and finance in terms of the fundamentals as well as the different aspects of banking operations and products available globally. This will give them a more comprehensive understanding and equip them better to deal with issues faced by them in their daily businesses."

The Oman based head office of the globally respected Islamic advisory firm Amanie Advisory House of Oman has demonstrated its commitment to the sector by organising the successful and well-attended inaugural Muscat International Islamic Finance Forum in 2012 as well as a knowledge sharing workshop on the principles and practical implementation of Islamic finance in Oman on March 16, 2013.

The upcoming course entitled "Islamic Banking" will be the first of eight workshops to be held this year. This workshop will provide an in-depth analysis of typical lines of retail and commercial/corporate banking products, their characteristics and features as well as considerations from the Shariah point of view. The main objective of the first workshop is to provide a solid understanding on Shariah matters and principles as well as examining contemporary issues related to financial products offered by Islamic banks. This course will be delivered by Amanie Group Chairman, Dr Mohd Daud Bakar, who is also a world renowned Islamic finance scholar and he will be joined by expert trainer Mohammad Shaheed Khan. After the initial Islamic Banking workshop, throughout the year, Amanie will also conduct other sessions on subjects such as Takaful, Sukuk, Islamic Accounting (iAccounting), Risk Management, Islamic Asset Management, Structured Products and a dedicated workshop on Shariah Governance & Assurance Framework.
