ArabFinance: France-based Alstom installed and commissioned its SIL4 signaling electronic interlocking system in Deirut, the seventh commissioned sector of the Beni Suef-Assiut rail project, according to a February 14th emailed press release.

The installation included a support system and a supervisory control and data acquisition computer scheme for all subsystems.

Deirut is connected with the in-service Abu Qurqas, El Roda, and Mallawi stations, stretching over 50 kilometers of line.

The total length commissioned is 100 kilometers, with seven stations, 32 level crossings, and 160-point machines.

Managing Director of Alstom Egypt Mohamed Khalil said, We will pursue our long-term partnership in the country to better address the customers mobility needs and offer them smart, green, and innovative solutions fitting with their expectations.

Last October, Alstom delivered the line linking Beni Suef to Assiut under the Matai sector.
