Telecom carrier Algerie Telecom signed a service agreement with seven Algerian financial institutions to handle their voice and data networks.  The deal with the Banque d'Algerie, CPA, BADR, Satim, CNEP Banque, BEA, and BDL is a five-year contract to establish and manage secured networks to move voice and data between branches and headquarters and between banks.

The telecom firm is also preparing to sign similar deals with postal service company Algrie Poste, Algrie Clearing and the Banque Nationale d'Algerie, before targeting private banks and insurance firms.
