Damascus - Minister of Industry Dr. Fuad Issa Al-Jouni said we will not layoff any employee of the public companies that have been stooped from work recently, indicating that two procedures in this regard will be adopted, either to receive their salaries while staying in the companies or to be transferred to other administrative works.
In a statement published by Tishreen daily on Sunday, the Minister added:" The Ministry is studying situation of all public companies. In a case of unnecessary companies were found in the sector, they will be treated like the rest of the companies stooped from work," pointing out that the subsequent procedure after stopping the companies is putting them into commercial or industrial investment.
He clarified that there is a legal framework for putting companies into investment which is the law of Foundations, No. / 2 /after getting the necessary approvals, starting from the Ministry, through the Economic Commission and the approval of the Cabinet for investment to be possible.
Last Thursday, the Minister toured a number of companies in the framework of the evaluation of the project of industrial modernization and development which is being implemented by UNIDO and financed by the Italian government in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and 36 public companies, especially the companies working in the textile industries.
The Minister emphasized the issue of increasing the capacity of the companies' competitive compared to private sector companies operating outside the country and taking advantage of all material and human resources potentials of the companies in the field of quality, cost reduction and marketing.
