Ajman:Ajman they have impounded roughly claimed around 500 cars were impounded in Ajman during the UAE National Day celebrations.
Brigadier Ali Abdullah Alwan ,commander-in-chief of Ajman Police told Gulf News around 2000 cars from different emirates wanted to Ajman police for committing different types of violations ,one of the most common violations was exhaust, headers and air filter modifications, to increase engine noise. Other offences included tinting windows above the 30% limit, accessories on the car covering the number plate and littering, cars whose occupants were spraying pedestrians , exiting the vehicle on the middle of the road , driving on the opposite direction, blocking traffic and damaging public property such as pavements and landscaping ….etc ,
Police surveillance Cameras in public places filmed those violators and their cars will be impounded once they renew their vehicle registrations.
These cars , various emirates in the UAE , and other carrying plate numbers of GCC , were moved to the main impound lots in Al Jurif area .
Brigadier Alwan mentioned that the capacity of the Ajman confiscation cars complex is 1500 cars and divided to 13 section including , car impounded temporarily, , cars involved in major accidents , modification engine cars, cars to be auction , motorbikes and bicycles .
The confiscation complex is received a round 30 cars daily , Ahmad Saleh , head of vehicle impound complex at Ajman Police told Gulf News
He pointed out that the working hours of the confiscation complex is from Sunday to Thursday from 7,30am to 2,30pm.
He mentioned that a total of 275 impounded cars were released last November , and a total of 293 car were released in October and 376 car were released in September
And 100 cars were released during December
Saleh said that all impounded cars were registered through electronic system but before registration in the system the car was checked if there was any damages or items inside the car, evey thing in register in a paper and kept with a plastic cover with the key of the car.
When the person come to receive his car ,it take only one minute to finish procedure , he added
