MUSCAT -- Al Hassan Electricals Co LLC (AHE), in coordination with their Principal Elcon Megarad SpA, Italy recently conducted the assessment programme for cable jointers at Al Hassan Corporate Office. Maqbool Ali Salman, Managing Director, Al Hassan Group of Companies, said, "this programme is quite significant as training and assessment of cable jointers is one of the pre-requisites for use of any cable accessories in the electrical network.

Al Hassan has an exemplary record of accomplishment in relation to health, safety and the environment. To ensure that our services continue to meet exacting health and safety process, we continue to invest in the development and training of not only our management and staff but also of the industry as a whole. This programme is a step in the same direction."

Apart from Al Hassan Engineering Co SAOG, part of the Contracting SBU of Al Hassan Group, many leading Omani project contractors also deputed their jointers for the training including Al Falahy Co, Al Turki Enterprises, Al Subhi Trading, Arabian Industries, BEC, Galfar, L&T Electromech, Koroun Trading and United Engg Projects Co.

A team of senior officials from Elcon Megarad comprising Marcello Monte (Product Manager), Francesco Lombardo (Expert Jointer) and Jehad Nasser (Export Area Manager) assessed the jointers. A total of 46 jointers were assessed for their skills in making a joint and termination on 33kV 3 core XLPE cables.

All the participants as well as the trainers appreciated the generous hospitality and other arrangements made by the AHE team. The AHE covers the whole of Oman through five showrooms in the Muscat capital region at Hamriya, Walja (Honda Road), Ghubra, A'Seeb and Al Khodh, a network of over 400 dealers and warehouses serviced daily by its own fleet of vehicles.

AHE has over three decades of experience in supply of power generation, T&D equipment, oil and gas and water related products to various prestigious projects. AHE has a specialised lighting division which provides project lighting solutions to commercial buildings, residential complexes, utilities, ministries, hospitals, industrial installations, shopping malls and infrastructure projects.
