Abu Dhabi, 22nd Dec. 2009 (WAM): The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has recently opened Internal Streets Project at Musaffah West-East, after completing the works of the project that started in 2007 at a total cost of AED 116 million.
The project covered construction of various streets at Musaffah Industrial Area together with car-parks for the sectors (M26+MW4+MW2,3+M39+M40 ), with main streets extending about 2100 meters in both directions, and about 16,500 meter long internal one-way roads. The project included widening of Abu Dhabi Al Ain Trucks Road through adding a lane in each direction in the sector approaching Musaffah (from CH: 300+000.00 to CH:302+663.00), including protection of the intersecting gas lines. It also included lighting works of internal roads in various sectors at Musaffah Industrial (M26-M37-M39- M46-MW2,3) sectors in addition to construction of entry points for accommodations and commercial outlets at Musaffah Industrial (for about 104 plots) and at Mohammed bin Zayed City (for about 77 plots). The project had been completed over two phases, where Phase II covered kerbstone installation works and associated completion of inspection chambers of rainwater drainage system in a sector extending 148,000 meter (in the sectors M32/1-M32/2-M33A-M35-M37-M38-M39-M40-M42-M43-M46-MW2-MW3-MW4-MW5). The completion of Musaffah Internal Streets Project is part of the Strategy of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City to strengthen the infrastructure and expand the modern roads network in keeping with the accelerated economic & urban growth of Musaffah area as a result of rising numbers of population.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2009.
