Abu Dhabi Mohammad Jalal Al Rayaysa Director of the Communication and Information Department, said the Aspartame used in Nova chewing gum is not a dangerous substance by itself. He said however that though it is an authorised substance in food manufacturing and should be under control and within regulations. He said that an indication should be given to the consumer about how much aspartame is used.

Motorists told to take other routes
Abu Dhabi The Al Salam Street-Al Falah Street intersection will be closed tomorrow from midnight to facilitate the construction of the major tunnel in Salam Street project. The intersection was partially closed last week. Abu Dhabi Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, announced that the outbound lanes of the Eastern Ring Road will be moved so that they will be in parallel with the pathway going towards the naval base area, with three lanes on each direction.

19 bookshops warned and fined
Ras Al Khaimah Inspectors from the RAK Department of Economic Development have issued 19 warning letters to some of the emirate's bookshops and imposed a fine on of them. The target of the inspection campaign was to ensure that bookshops install reasonable printing and copying price lists in visible places for customers to see.
