Abadan - Executive Operations Chief of Abadan Int'l Airport said here Wednesday according to Airports Mother Technical Affairs Company order, this airport offers round the clock services as of now.

According to IRNA reporter in Abadan, Ali-Reza Mansouri was further quoted by the airport's Public Relations Office as saying, "In order to harmonize among the country's international airports and in a bid to offer better services to the people in southern parts of Khuzestan Province, following continuous efforts made by the Operations Deputy and the management of this airport, the required permission was issued by the Aviation Operations Deputy of Airports Mother Technical Affairs Company the working hours of Abadan International Airport increased to 24 hours as of Tuesday, June 1st."

He added, "So far in accordance with the IEP program, Abadan Airport's working hours used to be form 6:30 am to 20 pm, but since the number of incoming and outgoing flights had increased and on most nights we had to offer services till around midnight, we proposed offering 24 hour aviation services, which was accepted and is now being implemented."

The Managing Director of Abadan International Airport, too, told IRNA, "Since this airport is now offering 24 hour services, there would be no restrictions for the arrival, or departure of the flights and we would be ready for offering aviation services anytime of the day or the night."

Kazem Naddafpour also expressed hope that offering round the clock services of Abadan Airport would be in line with better serving the people of this region.

Abadan International Airport currently has 68 weekly departure flights to Isfahan, Tehran, Khark Island, Mash'had, and Shiraz and as many arrivals from those origins.

Facilities of the airport that were mainly fully destroyed in the course of the Iraqi imposed war have been renovated and reconstructed ever since the end of the war and Abadan Airport is now one of the country's best airports.
