A total of 5,095 people have so far benefited from the Social Housing Finance Programme (Mazaya), launched in partnership with the private sector.
Housing Minister Bassem Al Hamer unveiled the statistics which cover the period since the launch of the programme until the first quarter of 2020.
The overall spending in the real estate, construction, engineering and retail sectors topped BD837 million during the same period.
The number of citizens benefiting from the Mazaya programme jumped from an annual average of 773 in 2015 to 1,358 beneficiaries in 2019.
During the same period, banks granted citizens loans for BD481m, while returns reaped by banks reached BD100m.
The Mazaya programme pumped BD252m in the construction and engineering consultancy sectors.
