KUWAIT, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- The Commerce and Industry Ministry said Wednesday it issued, in December, some 378 country of origin certificates for Kuwaiti exports goods worth a total of KD 17.4 million.

Out of this total, the country of origin certificates destined to Arab countries totaled 298 worth KD 12.2 million, the head of the Ministry's Public Relations Khaled Al-Abdel-Hadi told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

The other certificates, for Kuwaiti exports destined to non-Arab states, totaled 80 and were worth KD five million, he added.

He stressed that Jordan came first among the countries importing Kuwaiti goods and accounted for 110 of the certificates. The Kuwaiti exports to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan included foodstuff, oil and electric isolation material.

He added that Yemen, Pakistan and Algeria were the countries accounting for the least amount of exports during the month of December. Each of the three countries accounted for a single country of origin certificate, he said.

Kuwaiti exports, during that month, were mainly industrial detergents, foodstuff, soft drinks, chemicals, flour and polyethylene.
