Second Edition of the largest regional beverages technology event is set for upcoming December
DED official support to DDTE encourages local and regional presence
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 6th July 2009: INDEX Conferences & Exhibitions Org Est announced, during a press conference held today, 6th of July 2009 in Grand Hyatt Hotel, second edition of DDTE to be organized from 6 to 8 December 2009. DDTE 2009 will occupy double scaled space (over 7,000 sqm) at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre to meet the global beverages market needs.
Department of Economic Development is officially supporting DDTE 2009 through its arm, Dubai Export Development Corporation and is exclusively participating with pavilion presence. DED participation will encourage further local and regional beverage companies to participate in DDTE as a unique regional beverages event.
"Dubai's beverage technology firms are highly developed and have been very successful in entering foreign markets and the Dubai Drink Technology Expo 2009, as the first non-alcoholic drinks and liquid food exhibition in the MENA region, offers them an ideal opportunity to showcase their products in this sector to the global marketplace" said Engineer Saed Al Awadi, Chief Executive Officer, EDC.
Pioneers in beverages industry from more than 64 countries have shown great interest in participating in DDTE 2009 including France, Italy, Korea, USA, Hong Kong, Germany, Austria, China, and Bangladesh among others. Companies like Integrated Packaging Systems FZCO, Norland International, Sacmi Labelling Spa, Zulal Water Factory, and Integrated Packaging Systems FZCO have shown great interest in participating in DDTE 2009.
Within the GCC beverages market, the compound annual growth rate for 2008 is 6.7 for the bottled water, 7.2 for RTD tea products, 8.3 for the energy drinks, 6.2 for the liquid milk, 5.5 for the juice products, 5.2 for the carbonated soft drinks, 4.1 for the Laban and 1.7 for tea.
"Exhibition space is expected to increase by 50% compared to last year, more than 250 companies are participating and we are targeting 10,000 professional trade visitors to attend the event" said Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of Arab Asian Beverage Meeting (AABM) and President of INDEX Holding.
Arab Asian Beverage Meeting, is scheduled to be held in conjunction with Dubai Drink Technology Expo with the support of the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and in collaboration with Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA) and the Department of Naturalizations and Residency in Dubai as a strategic partner of the event.
"The strategic importance of AABM is in being a manufacturing event, knowing that manufacturing sector is growing 18% in GDP. This year it will handle topics of importance including the new trends and latest technology in manufacturing sector. AABM will be a venue to enhance knowledge through guru speakers in this sector complementing and supporting DDTE" Said Dr. Ahmed Al Banna - Secretary-General of Arab Asian Beverage Meeting (AABM)
AABM is an educational chapter and aims to enhance the business relations between manufacturers, producers, logistic services providers, governmental entities in charge of import and export, businessmen and investors in beverages sector within the Arab world and Asia. It will focus on topics related to market trends and growth in beverages industry, industry challenges and solutions, protect the environment and going green in the beverages industry in addition to other success stories.
Business to Business meetings program will be held in the exhibition to increase the interaction between trade visitors and exhibitors. It is a matching program that assists in enhancing business and trading deals during the event.
Dubai Drink Technology Expo presents worldwide range of products and services in the area of beverage technology and liquid food. It offers the state-of-the-art technology, logistics solutions, and raw materials for the entire industry which constitutes a vital element to the consumers all over the world. The event will focus on promoting the latest drink processing and packaging systems, light machinery, equipment, technology, materials and services to brand owners, retailers, beverage service operators, manufacturers, processors and logistics services providers. Dubai Drink Expo is a member of the American Beverages Association, the world largest gathering that brings together the leading manufactures of beverages.
