Dubai: The number of passengers travelling through Sharjah International Airport rose 12.3 per cent in April, according to data on the airport’s website.

The airport, the main base for budget carrier Air Arabia, saw 915,101 passengers in April compared to 814,648 a year earlier.

The number of aircraft landings and take-offs rose 3.9 per cent to 6,050 whilst the amount of cargo handled fell 20.3 per cent to 14,944 tonnes.

Sharjah International is the United Arab Emirates’ third busiest airport after Dubai International and Abu Dhabi International.
