Dubai: The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) launched its annual exhibition in Dubai from April 30 to May 3. I have been attending this exhibition since 2008 but my experience this year was better because Saudi Arabian Airlines participated the event for the first time.
High ranking executives were even there to support the exhibit. I was very glad to have met Wajdi Alidrissi, Saudia Private Aviation managing director, a very accommodating man.
I would like to give credits to the Saudi Commission of Tourism and Antiquities too for the phenomenal stand that had more features like the old zamzam and other amazing activities.
Another good thing in this year's ATM was the participation of the new countries like Georgia, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya and Cyprus.
Surprisingly, even IT business providers joined the exhibit. This year's ATM was really more colorful. Unfortunately, there were less buyers due to inadequate hotel rooms because of the other two exhibitions happening at the same time. Usually, during the ATM, no other exhibition takes place.
This, however, did not seem to discourage Joanne Golong-Gomez, director of sales for Ascott Makati, one of the best 5 star apartment hotels in Manila. Gomez who never fails to smile and in my opinion, one of the best sales managers in terms of professionalism. Ascott made a smart decision in hiring her. So, till next year! I wish the best for all.
