Amman June 14, 2011: Royal Jordanian President/CEO Hussein Dabbas said that the airline is monitoring the movement of the ash cloud from the Nabro volcano, which erupted in the northeast African nation of Eritrea last Sunday.
He added that until Tuesday afternoon, RJ flights had not been affected, but are running on their regular schedule.
Dabbas pointed out that the airline formed a committee to follow the ash cloud movement that is slowly being pushed by the wind towards Sudan and the northwestern regions, Egypt and northern Saudi Arabia.
The RJ president said that the airline has come up with a contingency plan to be activated in case it has to suspend some flights, particularly those to Khartoum. He added that the company will inform passengers of any changes the ash cloud might impose on to its flight schedule.
