MUSCAT -- The Muscat Municipality yesterday signed five agreements worth RO200 million to construct waste water disposal projects.
"Haya Water aims to provide clean sewerage services to 80 per cent of residents in Muscat by 2014," Engineer Sultan bin Hamdoon Al Harthy, chairman of Muscat Municipality and chairman of Haya Water board of directors, said.
Services will be extended to almost 90 per cent of Muscat by 2017, Al Harthy said.
The agreements signed yesterday include development of drainage systems in Al Khoudh, Al Mabelah-south, Al Mawaleh, Al Wadi Al Kabir, Darsait-coastline, Aint and Al Hamriyah, officials said.
About RO63,000,000 will be spent to develop drainage systems in Al Khoudh in the wilayat of A'Seeb (Al Mawaleh-South and part of Al Hail-South). The project, which was signed with Consolidated Contractors Company, Oman, is estimated to be completed in 1,230 days.
United Gulf Construction will construct waste water disposal systems in wilayat of A'Seeb (Al Khoudh and part of Al Hail-South) at RO58,000,000. The project is expected to be completed in 1,230 days, officials said.
Gulf Petrochemical Services and Trading Company, together with Green Tide general Trading and Contracting Company, and Vadnais Corporation (Middle East), develop the main sewage line in Bausher at a cost of around RO50,000,000.
The work is expected to be completed in 900 days, officials said.
Ansari company will develop drainage networks in Darsait coastline, Aint, Al Wadi Al Kabir and Al Hamriya at RO19,000,000. The project deadline has been set at 1,095 days.
Associated Consulting Engineers International, will provide design advisory service, supervision and management of drainage projects in the wilayat of Baushar. The project costs around RO8,000,000, and is expected to end in 2,160 days.
