Dubai, 30th March, 2016 (WAM): Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has ordered Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MRHE) to exempt families of the nations martyrs from paying the housing loans they incurred before martyrdom.

This includes various kinds of loans such as loans for buying and constructing houses and for maintenance.

Commenting on this order, Sami Abdulla Gargash, CEO of MRHE, said that this decision reflects His Highness gratitude for the sacrifices of these heroes, and his commitment to support their families.

The move follows an earlier decision by MRHE to become a partner for the Homat Al Watan, or Homeland Protectors discount card. The card offers affiliates of the Ministry of Defence and UAE Armed Forces with special privileges for services from MRHE. This includes allocation of completed houses, extension of initial booking for houses by an extra two months, fast track processing of loan applications, technical assistance for those who receive construction loans, and extension of the maintenance period by one year for those who have received completed houses.

The Homeland Protectors discount card was launched under the directives of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide benefits to the affiliates of the Ministry of Defence and UAE Armed Forces. This includes those currently serving in the UAE military, civilian affiliates of the Ministry of Defence, as well as retirees and veterans.
