Middlesex University Dubai partners with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT - Middle East section to champion the advancement of the IT sector in UAE.

The MoU will provide the next generation of IT professionals with the skills and connections needed to succeed in the industry.

Dubai, UAE: Middlesex University Dubai and BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT – Middle East section signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of working towards the advancement of the field of Information Technology in the UAE.

Both organisations agreed in principle to support one another under many initiatives. These include development and support of the computing programmes and students under the department of Computer Engineering and Informatics, organising and hosting academic events, promote professional and ethical practice among students in the field of IT and explore other avenues for collaboration.

Eng. Adel Alkaff Al Hashmi, Founder and Chairman, The Chartered Institute for IT (BCS) ME Section, highlighted, "We are pleased with our partnership with Middlesex University in Dubai through signing the MoU today. As part of this collaboration, we look forward in promoting IT professionalism, BCS Membership for both students and faculty, as well as hosting joint events addressing emerging topics in IT."

The MoU signing ceremony took place on December 04, 2016 at the Middlesex University Dubai Knowledge Park Campus and was attended by officials from University and BCS ME committee.

BCS is a leading professional body for those working in IT, with a worldwide membership of over 70,000 members in 100 countries. The BCS objectives are to promote the study and application of communications technology and computing technology and to advance knowledge of education in ICT for the benefit of professional practitioners and the general public. It was founded in 1957 as the British Computer Society and is the only professional body in the United Kingdom with the ability to grant chartered status to IT professionals.
