MUSCAT -- MAN Truck and Bus and Arabian Engineering Services, (a part of Saud Bahwan Group) the distributors of MAN vehicles in Oman jointly hosted a customer meet at the Muscat Intercontinental hotel yesterday. The meet was organised for the MAN customers, to highlight the new technology and product developments at MAN as well as to preview the new TGS range of trucks.

Mr. Markus Geyer, CEO of the MAN Africa Middle East Sales Region, David van Graan, Vice President and Head of Center Middle East and Mr. Rolf Meyer, Area Sales Manager, graced the occasion along with senior representatives from Saud Bahwan Group

Giving a corporate perspective of MAN's pedigree and outstanding achievements Geyer remarked "Three years ago, the MAN Group celebrated 250 years of experience and innovation - making us one of the world's most respected and tradition-rich automotive suppliers.". Giving details of the MAN group he mentioned "The MAN group of companies, has an almost 15 billion euros annual turnover and approximately 50.000 employees".

"Coming closer to home, the mega sales region Africa Middle East is steered from our regional head quarters in Dubai. It is the largest sub-region of the MAN world, comprising 68 countries - all with a great variety of product demands and vastly differing after sales needs. We have ambitious goals for this region, and as such have a clear vision and growth strategy towards 2015 and beyond" he added. Giving details of MAN's global activities, he mentioned "MAN's innovative global growth strategy into the BRIC countries will enable you to have access to an even broader range of transport technology - irrespective of the transport task at hand. "

Geyer lauded the strategic steps taken by its partner of 30 years, Arabian Engineering Services in promoting the MAN brand in Oman. He said "I would like to congratulate Sheikh Mohammed Saud Bahwan, Chairman, Saud Bahwan Group, for his dynamic leadership taking MAN from strength to strength by investing in infrastructure, human resources and marketing initiatives."

The 3S facility reflecting SBG's total commitment to the brand was inaugurated in Athaiba in 2008.

This magnificent commercial vehicle facility, capable of accommodating 75 trucks in one service shift, sports the latest in automotive diagnostics equipment, a massive parts inventory and factory trained technicians and product support staff.

The other 5 service centres in Oman -- Mawaleh, Nizwa, Salalah, Sohar and Marmul - supported by fully kitted mobile service units ensure a fantastic customer service support network across the Sultanate.

The customers had an opportunity to view the new TGS range of trucks, which were recently introduced in the Oman market.

They cater to a variety of applications such as semi trailer tractor, tipper chassis or mixers ranging from 18 to 41 tonnes (GVW).
