Al-Numas inaugurates exhibition

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 24: The low-cost housing project will be implemented soon with an estimated budget of KD100 million, says State Minister for Housing Affairs and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Al-Numas.

Speaking Tuesday at the inauguration of the Construction and Manufacturing Exhibition, organized by the National Industries Company, in collaboration with the Conferences and Exhibitions Organizing Management Groups, Al-Numas admitted the funding system of the project remains hazy. He confirmed the Housing Ministry will study ways for the government to buy houses, while the private companies will invest on those houses for 45 years.

Hoping for stronger coordination between the investors to complete the project on time, Al-Numas said the development work in the country is progressing as planned. He disclosed the Al-Jaber Hospital, which includes 1,200 rooms, will be completed by next year. He added the ministry has finalized 60 percent of its projects, affirming that Kuwait supports local products by buying directly from contractors according to the decisions taken by the Cabinet.
