Amman - The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said that it will announced its 2010-2015 national tourism strategy draft next March.
Media Spokesperson of the ministry Ansam Malkawi said the strategy focuses on four major aspects including developing product, tourism marketing, legislative environment and developing human resources.
The strategy, she added aims at improving quality of services and diversifying products and facilities to conform to international criteria and increase number of tourists visiting tourism sites.
Malkawi said a task force chaired by Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Maha Al Khatib has been formed to discuss increasing competitiveness, adding the team includes representatives of the public and private sectors from the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Department of Antiquities and the Jordan Tourism Board.
The spokesperson highlighted the importance of cooperation and coordination with the Public Security Directorate and the tourism police to develop the tourism sector in the Kingdom.
