KUWAIT CITY, Jan 23: Alia Naseef, an MP from the Iraqiya bloc -- White Bloc -- has warned of the existence of moles among the bedoun deported to Iraq by the Kuwaiti side, reports Al-Rai daily.
Speaking to the press, the parliamentarian said Kuwait is adding new problems to the already existing tense situation by expelling bedoun to Iraq by saying they are Iraqis.
She added this may put Iraq at a disadvantage because among the deported bedoun Kuwait may plant intelligence agents to spy on Iraq.
She called on the Iraqi government to ask the concerned authority to take precautionary security measures to protect the safety and stability of the country and pre-empt 'foreign' attempts to disrupt national security.
Meanwhile, the Al-Dar daily said an Iraqi organization the 'Al-Ghayari Sons Bloc' led by Sheikh Abbas Al-Mohamadavi has announced the formation of an armed group called 'Bader 9' to keep in check what it called the Kuwaiti violations and to protect Iraq's sovereignty.
He said the group will comprise of volunteers from all Iraqi civil society organizations representing Arab clans.
Al-Mohamadavi has called on the Iraqi government to clarify the nature of relations with Kuwait.
The Al-Kuwaitiah daily quoting a report from Human Rights Watch said hundreds of bedoun took to the streets demanding an end to their plight, human rights and other rights at the beginning of 2012.
According to the report the government treated the demonstrators with a heavy hand but later relented and promised to issue them government IDs, free education and free healthcare. However, the question of naturalization still hangs in balance.
The report noted about 106,000 stateless people live in Kuwait who are called by the name 'bedoun'.
The government claims a majority of them are illegal residents and most of them are hiding their original identities.
