Abu Dhabi: Etihad Airways bowed out of the Ace-Pan Global Group Ramadan Twenty20 Cup with their heads held high.

They ended Health Authority Abu Dhabi’s three-match winning streak in their final game in Group D to take their tally to six points but still fell short on the run rate that left the latter team and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank to advance.

Etihad were looking down the barrel at 50 for four in the ninth over before a 66-run stand between Jawad Qazi (35) and Khurram Ejaz (39) revived the chase of 140 at the Zayed stadium.

Interface sent the Emirates Cricket Board Greens, the UAE U19 probables, on a leather hunt as they joined Alubond Tigers in the knockout round from Group B.

Rizwan Rauf smashed 86 off 45 balls highlighted by a dozen fours and three sixes for Alubond to post 222 for five after sent in to bat first. ECB Greens could muster only 90 for nine in reply.

Hafeez-ur-Rahman took five wickets for eight runs in 3.1 overs to send Adyard crashing to 35 all out in reply to Al Faraa’s 159 for five to register an easy 124-run win and take second spot in Group C behind the unbeaten Multiplex.

Alubond completed the group phase unbeaten. They thrashed Al Fahim by five wickets with more than 11 overs to spare.
