Dubai - Emirates NBD, one of the leading banking Groups in the region, today announced the linking of Dubai Government's Smart Dubai Happiness Meter to its Mobile Banking App.

The strategic partnership between Dubai Government and Emirates NBD solidifies the bank's goal of providing superior customer experience through its digital services. It is a first in a series of initiatives from Emirates NBD, the UAE's front-runner in digital banking, to help fulfill HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai's vision to make Dubai the happiest city on Earth.

The Smart Dubai Happiness Meter is a scientific approach to measuring happiness. Emirates NBD customers will be given the choice to choose between three ratings: happy, unhappy and neutral depending on the quality of their experience with the bank's mobile banking app creating a direct link for feedback between the bank and its customers.

Commenting on the announcement, Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates NBD, said: "As the largest bank in the country, we feel that it is our responsibility to help carry forward HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai's vision of making Dubai the happiest city on the planet. The Smart Dubai Happiness Meter is an extremely efficient and quick means to receive feedback from our customer base on how they rate their experience with our mobile banking app. Emirates NBD prides itself on providing best-in-class digital services and will use this tracker as a means of judging our own offerings while we continuously strive to achieve every single response as happy."

Emirates NBD's mobile banking app currently has a twenty-five percent penetration rate in the bank's customer base. The application has been downloaded over 750,000 times across all App Stores and has been highly ranked by consumers with 4.5 stars out of 5.

Al Qassim added, "We are extremely proud of our mobile banking app and the convenience and benefits that it affords all our customers. The Smart Dubai Happiness Meter complements our app and provides users with an easy means to give us the feedback we need to continue to enhance our performance. Furthermore, the responses will also be available to Dubai Government giving them invaluable insight into a key service used by the city's residents."

Emirates NBD's mobile banking app is consistently ranked #1 in the Finance category in the app store and was recently awarded 'Best Mobile Payment Product of the Year 2016' at the Asian Banker International Excellence in Retail Financial Services Awards.
