DUBAI, 10th August, 2015 (WAM) -- Emirates Islamic has donated AED 3 million to Dubai Health Authority?s Moussadah, assistance, committee, for setting up a mammography unit in Hatta Hospital and provide the DHA?s rehabilitation centre with the latest physiotherapy machine that helps stroke patients regain their ability to walk.
Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board of the DHA, said, "This contribution will help us install the latest medical equipment which will lead to better patient outcomes. Over the years, Emirates Islamic has contributed to several of the Mousaadah committee?s initiatives and has helped fund treatment for those with financial constraints. This is in keeping with our objective to support charitable causes via a dedicated Zakat Fund."Salim Bin Lahej, Director of the Moussadah committee, said, "Of the three million dirhams, AED1.65 million will be used to set up a mammography unit in Hatta hospital and AED 1.35 million will be used to procure the physiotherapy machine."Bin Lahej said the machine, known as the G-EO system robotic gait trainer, is a state-of-the-art machine to help stroke patients regain mobility.
