At the recent Duty Free News International (DFNI) Asia/Pacific Awards for Travel-Retail Excellence which were held to coincide with the Tax Free World Association Exhibition and Conference in Singapore, Dubai Duty Free walked away with the award for ‘Middle East Travel Retailer of the Year’ for the fifteenth time.
The DFNI awards are a celebration of the very best in the duty free industry in the Asia/Pacific Region and are based on votes received from industry partners.
Commenting on this remarkable achievement, Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman of Dubai Duty Free said, “The DFNI awards recognize excellence in service, innovation and quality within the airport retail sector and as such it is fantastic to receive this recognition for the fifteenth time. We hope to retain this award for many years to come and I would like to join our Chairman, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum in thanking our team of staff as well as thanking all of those who voted for Dubai Duty Free.”
Online voting forms for the DFNI Asia/Pacific awards were sent to a special industry ‘academy’ of retailers, suppliers, agents and distributors serving the region. Forms were also distributed through the DFNI magazine’s International database.
On behalf of Dubai Duty Free, Sean Staunton, Vice President for Operations and Saba Tahir, Vice President for Purchasing received the award from DFNI Publisher Amanda Felix along with Kapila Gohel, DFNI Deputy Editor.
The DFNI award follows close on the heels of the Business Traveller Middle East Award for “Best Airport for Duty Free Shopping in the Middle East” which was presented to Dubai Duty Free on the eve of the Arabian Travel Market this month
