First commercial office to be fully operational

Abu Dhabi, 6 December 2011: Sorouh Real Estate Company PJSC ("the Company" or "Sorouh"), the Abu Dhabi-based real estate developer (ADX: SOROUH) and the Austrian Embassy in Abu Dhabi together inaugurated the Embassy's new offices in Sky Tower, part of Sorouh's Shams Abu Dhabi master development on Al Reem Island, this morning. The Embassy signed a 10-year lease for commercial space in Sky Tower last March.

His Excellency Dr. Julius Lauritsch, the Austrian Ambassador to the UAE and Abubaker Seddiq Al Khouri, managing director of Sorouh were both present at the inauguration ceremony, also attended by representatives from both parties. The new offices of the Austrian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, in Sorouh's Sky Tower, are now fully operational and open for official business.     

Ambassador Dr. Lauritsch commented on the occasion, saying:

"We would like to thank Sorouh for delivering the Embassy to the highest possible standards. We are very excited to commence our operations from Sky Tower. Its location, right in the heart of the new central living and business district of Al Reem Island, serves our needs perfectly and offers us the best amenities possible.

Abubaker Al Khouri, Managing Director, Sorouh said:

"It is a great honour to be able welcome the Austrian Embassy as our first operational customer in the Sky Tower. The Sun and Sky development is really starting to come alive now, over 80% of the sold commercial space has been handed over to customers and with fit outs being near completion it will start to form a thriving working community. Moreover, over 550 families are living in the towers and calling it home.  "

The 74-storey Sky Tower and 65-Storey Sun Tower are the two tallest buildings in the Shams Gate District, a cluster of eight towers located at the entrance of Shams Abu Dhabi on Al Reem Island, and the highest completed buildings in Abu Dhabi. The two towers represent a new style of living in the capital, and comprise a mixture of commercial and residential space, creating the perfect mix for people living and working in the towers.
