AMMAN -- Jordan and Austria on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of technological cooperation in the health sector, the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation said.

The memorandum qualifies Jordan to receive soft loans and technical support from the Austrian government to develop health services, the ministry said in a statement.

Equipment and medical supplies will be provided to the Health Ministry and the Royal Medical Services under the agreement. Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Imad Fakhoury and Austrian Ambassador Michael Desser signed the memorandum. The minister commended Jordanian-Austrian relations and called for enhancing cooperation in various fields.
