(TAP)- Development works of the irrigated area around Sod Sarrat dam, south of El Kef, will be completed by September 2017. The project, which kicked off last February, consists of the development of 4,500 hectares for an amount of up to 83 MTD, Project Director Maatoug Yahiaoui told TAP correspondent.

The project, which kicked off last February, consists of the development of 4,500 hectares for an amount of up to 83 MTD, Project Director Maatoug Yahiaoui told TAP correspondent.
The funding comes from the State budget, the Kuwait Fund For Arab Economic Development and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.
The project seeks to tap water resources and rationalise their use, up crop production, increase revenues of farmers and generate jobs in Tajerouine, Kalaat Senane, El Kalaa El Khisba and Jerissa, the official indicated.
