RAS AL KHAIMAH, 23rd March, 2017 (WAM) -- Ras al-Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, RAK Chamber, has launched 14 happiness and positivity initiatives during its celebration of the International Day of Happiness.

Mohammed Hassan Al Sabab, Director-General of the RAK Chamber, described happiness as a requirement, a desire and a basic need pursued by everybody, something that is sought after in many fields. "The UAE has achieved for its people and residents the highest standards of living, security and stability, and is able to embark on transforming happiness as an ideal into the reality of a happy society," he said.

He added, that there are three main domains in the Happiness and Positivity Programme: inclusion of happiness and positivity in the policies, programmes and services of all government programmes and related work environment; instilment of happiness and positivity values as a lifestyle; and the development of benchmarks and methods for measuring happiness in the UAE society.

The chamber has created a "Client Happiness Centre" and the position of "Happiness Executive Director," in addition to renaming "Client Service Executive" as "Client Happiness Executive," he noted.

Eiman Darwish Al Hayyas, Assistant General Manager, Support and Institutional Services Sector, and CEO of Happiness and Positivity at the Chamber, said that happiness initiatives include a "Happiness Index," which measures employees happiness in four areas; occupational happiness, employee satisfaction, occupational synergy and occupational loyalty, and "An Hour of Happiness," which is an initiative that is run by the chambers various departments and sections monthly, on an alternating basis.
