ABU DHABI, 24th April, 2017 (WAM) -- The Armed Forces today celebratedthe graduation of the seventh batch of national service personnelafter the end of their basic training period, which lasted four monthsat four training centres.

The recruits will now move to the second specialised training stageduring which they will be assigned to different units.

The recruits presented military shows that highlighted their nationalspirit, and the readiness to defend and protect the country. Theypresented military performances to show the audience what they hadlearnt during training.

These presentations highlighted their high morale and embodied theirloyalty, sense of belonging, love for the nation and the readiness tosacrifice for it.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran,and then the performance of the oath. The commander of the camp gave aspeech in which he pointed out that the recruits were giventheoretical and practical exercises according to a specific curriculumaimed at physically and mentally preparing the recruits for themilitary life.

He stressed that they had proved their capacity to withstand the toughtraining, acknowledging that the protection of the nation was theirduty.

"The graduates have realised from day one of their enrolment at thecentre that they are facing a great challenge, and they have provedtheir ability and willingness to pursue the training, obey orders andinstructions," he noted.

He observed that this generation had a strong sense of responsibilityand was always ready to protect the nation.

At the end of his speech, he expressed his thanks and appreciation tothe General Command of the Armed Forces and to all the units, theMinistry of Interior and the civil authorities in Al Ain, and to allthose who contributed in providing the necessary support to the centreto achieve the desired objectives.

Several parents of the recruits expressed their happiness that theirsons had joined the seventh batch to serve as soldiers in the serviceof their homeland to defend them and had acquired self-defencetraining, discipline and responsibility.
