A Cabinet meeting, held Friday under the chairmanship of Premier Youssef Chahed, approved three draft laws.

The first bill authorises the State to commit to the convention between the Government of Tunisia and the United States Institute of Peace which provides for the opening of a regional office in Tunis.

The Cabinet meeting also approved a bill on the endorsement of a loan agreement signed on April 22, 2017, by Tunisia and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development under which an integrated management project will be funded in less developed areas.

A third draft law relating to the approval of a loan agreement concluded on April 18, 2017, by the Tunisian Republic and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) was also approved. The loan agreement provides for a contribution to the financing of a bridge construction project on classified roads.

The Prime Minister urged Government members to intensify efforts to increase the growth rate estimated at 2.1% in Q1 of 2017.
