DUBAI, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Qatar Gas Transport Co (Nakilat), one of the world's largest shippers of liquefied natural gas, posted a 7.6 percent rise in third-quarter net profit on Thursday, according to Reuters calculations.

The company made a net profit of 266.1 million riyals ($73.1 million) in the three months to Sept. 30, Reuters calculated using Nakilat's earlier financial statements in lieu of a quarterly earnings breakdown.

This was up from a profit of 247.2 million riyals a year earlier.

QNB Financial Services had forecast Nakilat would make a third-quarter profit of 274.8 million riyals.

The company made a net profit of 756.3 million riyals in the first nine months of 2015, up from 692 million riyals in the corresponding period of last year, it said in a statement.
