KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia - Saudi Arabia and Russia will set up a new $1 billion fund to invest in energy, which will be finalised during the upcoming visit of Saudi King Salman to Moscow this week, Russian energy minister Alexander Novak told Al Arabiya television channel.

"We are working on a number of agreements and we will announce them during the visit," Novak told the Saudi TV channel in an interview aired on Monday.

"Our focus is not just on strengthening our cooperation within the framework of the OPEC and non-OPEC(agreement) but also the strengthening of cooperation in oil, gas, electricity and renewable energy," Novak said, according to Arabiya.
