Famed circus company Cirque du Soleil is coming back to the UAE, this time with Toruk — The First Flight, inspired by the ground-breaking film Avatar, at the Dubai World Trade Centrey from January 4 to 17.

Like the movie, the story is set in Pandora, but thousands of years before the events depicted in the film, and before any humans ever set foot on the planet. When a natural catastrophe threatens to destroy the sacred Tree of Souls, Ralu and Entu, two Omatikaya boys decide to take matters into their own hands. Upon learning that Toruk can help them save the Tree of Souls, they set out on a quest to find the red and orange predator.

The show will fuse cutting-edge visuals, puppetry and stagecraft, said organisers Alchemy Project.

“We are extremely proud to announce the return of Cirque Du Soleil to the region with it’s latest production that takes the audience into a new world of imagination in a breathtaking journey,” said Sia.S.Far, the managing director of Alchemy Project.

Tickets, starting at Dh295, will go on sale for pre-registered customers on October 17. Public sale begins on October 20.
