A Cabinet meeting held Wednesday at the Government Palace in Kasbah adopted a series of government decrees on the reform of the security sector, higher education and upholding the principle of parity.

According to a statement from the Prime Ministry, the approved draft government decrees are:

- Draft government decree establishing a management by objectives unit to monitor and control the programme to support the reform and modernisation of the police,

- Draft government decree a management by objectives unit to monitor the programme to uphold the principle of parity,

- Draft government decree establishing a management by objectives unit to implement the project to reform the higher education sector in order to promote the employability of university graduates,

- Draft government decree amending and supplementing Decree No. 2007-534 on the definition of the rules for granting loans and grants from the National Home Improvement Fund (French: FNAH).

- Draft government decree defining the modalities of intervention of the Fund for the Promotion of Housing for Employees (FOPROLOS).

- Draft government decree defining the procedures and conditions for mandatory consultation of the Competition Council on draft legislative and regulatory texts.

- Draft government decree on establishing a hypermarket in the governorate of Sousse.

On another level, the Cabinet meeting took stock of the security, economic and social situation in Tunisia and learnt about the progress of the implementation of the state budget for the year 2016.

It also discussed several other issues including employment, market supply and price control.
