• Approval of a project to develop the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Road from the Falah intersection to the Qasr Al Bahr intersection for AED 109 million.

• Approval of a project to link the power generated from the Barakah nuclear power plant to the emirate's existing power grid for AED 63 million.

• Approval of a project to develop the electric distribution network in Ghayathi and Jebel Dhanna for AED 41.5.

• Approval of an operation and maintenance project for the natural beautification of the Abu Dhabi Corniche for AED 22 million.

Abu Dhabi - The Executive Committee at the Executive Council, headed by His Excellency Jassim Mohammad Buatabah Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Executive Committee, approved several projects in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as part of the Abu Dhabi Plan with an overall value of AED 235 million.

In detail, the Executive Committee approved a project to develop the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Road from the Falah intersection to the Qasr Al Bahr intersection for an overall value of AED 109 million. 

The project includes building an externally directed inclined road within the Sheikh Zayed tunnel and several improvements to intersections with the aim of easing traffic, facilitating transport in the city, and increasing the efficiency of the city’s road network to keep-up with the urban development it is witnessing.

The Executive Committee also approved a project to link the power generated from the Barakah nuclear power plant to the emirate’s existing power grid for the value of AED 63 million.

The project seeks to guarantee the efficiency and continuity of electric supply, and to build four 400V overhead transmission lines at the Barakah nuclear power plant and link them to the two main stations in Madinat Zayed and Bab 2. These efforts will provide a link and supply to the Abu Dhabi General Transport Company network and control center through the transmission of 5,600MW from the overall power generated at the station. 

In the same context, the Committee approved a project to develop the electric distribution network in Ghayathi and Jebel Dhanna in Al Dhafra, Abu Dhabi for the value of AED 41.5. The project includes the supply and installation of electric cables over 89km to reach the optimal use of power resources, and reinforce sustainable power efficiency in new housing units in Ghayathi and Jebel Dhanna.

The Committee further approved an operation and maintenance project for the natural beautification of the Abu Dhabi Corniche for the value of AED 22 million.

The project includes the cultivation of green spaces and the installation of aesthetic structures, decorative items, fountains, lighting and relevant service facilities in a way that preserves the city’s general appearance and unique cultural identity. 

The Committee also looked into and made appropriate decisions regarding several issues and items  concerning plans, projects and the development of services. They were submitted by government entities in Abu Dhabi and were listed on the Committee’s agenda.
