Dubai Properties (DP) announced on Monday it has completed 70 percent of the construction work of its 800 million dirhams ($217 million) Dubai Wharf development, located in the heart of the Culture Village project and close to the newly opened Dubai Water Canal.

The construction of the project’s first tower will be finished this November, with two more towers set to be completed in the first quarter of 2017. A retail area and a fourth tower will follow by the fourth quarter of the same year.

The new residential towers, DP said, will include 594 studio-, one-, two-, and three bedroom apartments, as well as 110 retail, food and beverages and entertainment outlets located on a ground floor overlooking the canal area.

Dubai Wharf will also include a private recreation area, a gym and a swimming pool, as well as green space.

A senior company executive told Zawya Projects last month that DP is working on two new hotel projects in Dubai’s popular areas of the Business Bay and the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR).
