• Etisalat Digital to provide a specialised telemedicine software platform

Dubai, UAE: American Hospital, part of Mohamed & Obaid Al Mulla Group and one of the leading pioneers of private healthcare in the Middle East, today announced that it has partnered with Etisalat Digital to launch the first-of-its-kind telehealth service in the private sector as a continuation of its mission to provide clinical excellence to patients in need.

This strategic partnership was revealed during the ongoing Arab Health 2020, the largest gathering of healthcare and trade professionals in the MENA region.

The new service is in line with the Fifty-Year Charter launched earlier in 2019 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The telehealth service will enable citizens and residents of UAE to request and avail remote medical consultations with the doctors of American Hospital by utilising the Etisalat Communication platform service for advanced voice, video conferencing, and collaboration technologies via a mobile app or web browser. By delivering these technologies in scalable, flexible, and operational, commercial models, Etisalat Digital is addressing some of the primary barriers to adoption of new technologies.”

Patients utilising this service through American Hospital gain access to high-quality healthcare services and connect face to face with a medical doctor who will take the patient’s history and symptoms and perform an exam. Moreover, telemedicine doctors can treat different types of diseases including cold & flu, urinary tract infections, allergies, headaches, sprains and skin conditions. As a result, telemedicine can reduce the geographical distance and enhance the efficiency of health resources

Sherif Beshara, Chief Executive Officer of Mohamed & Obaid Al Mulla Group, said: “Medical well-being is integral for the progress of our nation and its people, and we are consistently seeking Artificial Intelligence methods to reach as many patients as possible and in the fastest time. As a result, our partnership with Etisalat Digital comprises a giant step forward for our consultation services and further consolidates American Hospital’s position as a beacon of medical service and expertise in the region and beyond.”

Salvador Anglada, Group Chief Business Officer Etisalat, said: “We are pleased to partner with American Hospital, one of the leading hospitals in the region that applies advanced technologies to improve quality of care. This project reinforces Etisalat’s approach in redefining healthcare through innovative technologies like telemedicine consequently enhancing patient experience for smart and efficient delivery of healthcare in the United Arab Emirates.”
