Doha: Qatargas, the World’s Premier LNG Company, has successfully revalidated its Quality Management (ISO 9001:2015), Environment Management (ISO 14001:2015) and Occupational Health and Safety Management (OHSAS 18001:2007) systems.

The successful revalidation is testament to Qatargas’ premier HSE&Q Systems and its commitment to go beyond compliance in a continuous drive for HSE&Q excellence. This is demonstrated by notable recent achievements that include the 2018 Qatar Sustainability Award for the Jetty Boil-Off Gas (JBOG) recovery facility, safe execution of multiple asset shutdowns, and continuous improvement in flaring performance. Furthermore, the revalidation is noteworthy as it is the first audit to include all Qatargas assets under one certification, and the first to cover Qatargas Management System (QGMS) as the integrated company management system.

Apart from the HSE&Q management systems, different divisions within Qatargas have already been certified by global accreditation bodies including the Qatargas Laboratory and the Emergency Management Services (EMS) divisions.  Qatargas Laboratory has an ISO-17025 certification, awarded by The Netherlands-based international accreditation body Raad Voor Accreditatie (RVA), whereas the EMS Division has both an ISO-28000 certification regarding Security and an ‘Accredited Agency’ status from the US-based Center for Public Safety Excellence through its Commission on Fire Accreditation International.

Qatargas is a unique global energy operator in terms of size, service and reliability. Operating 14 Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) trains with a total annual production capacity of 77 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), the Company is the largest LNG producer in the world. Qatargas’ focus on advancing a culture of safety and maintaining a commitment to best practice has established it as an industry leader, continuing to set the standard for HSE&Q excellence, and ensuring safety, quality, reliability and integrity are inherent in its operations.
