Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Chief of Sharjah Ruler’s Office in Khorfakkan, inaugurated the activities of the first edition of the Real Estate Investment exhibition at Expo Khor Fakkan on Wednesday. The exhibition is considered the first event of its kind in the Eastern region of Sharjah.

The exhibition, which is sponsored by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), in coordination with Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, brings together a variety of real estate development companies, contracting and engineering firms, building materials companies, financial institutions, and a number of local government departments.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by HE Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the SCCI; a number of board members from the chamber; HE Mohamed Ahmed Amin, Acting Director-General of the SCCI; HE Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah; Khalil Al Mansoori, Director of Expo Khor Fakkan; HE Ahmed Shams Al Shamsi, General Manager of the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department; and HE Dr Rashid Khamis Obaid Al Naqbi, Director of the Khorfakkan Municipal Council; in addition to a number of heads of government departments. The ceremony was also attended by Saeed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Representative Committee of the Real Estate Sector Business Group, and the members of the Real Estate Sector Business Group.

Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Chief of Sharjah Ruler’s Office in Khorfakkan, praised Expo Khor Fakkan for organizing this exhibition, and praised the support and sponsorship of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Expo Centre Sharjah, and the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department. He stated that organizing this kind of specialized exhibition is a positive step that helps to highlight the investment opportunities in various economic sectors in the Eastern region of Sharjah, which is witnessing rapid development in light of the comprehensive development strategy of the region. He added that this strategy stems from the wise vision and directives of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and with the continuous follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

HE Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Director-General of the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, stressed that the Eastern region of Sharjah has received great attention and care from His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, where the region has witnessed comprehensive development in various economic, social, educational and cultural fields, in addition to the addition of tourism projects that benefitted from the great landscape of the Eastern region.

The department’s statistics during the first half of this year indicate that volume of transactions in the Eastern region’s cities has amounted to Dh204 million, whereas title deeds transactions reached 861, of which 98 transactions were sold. Mortgage transactions amounted to 132 transactions. These figures are likely to increase due to what the region offers in terms of the density of the population and the infrastructure.

Omar Al Mansouri, Director of Branches at Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, stated that organizing this exhibition in the Eastern Region, in cooperation with government departments and real estate developers, will help to stimulate the real estate sector in the area, and allow developers and investors to learn about the advantages and facilities in the Eastern region, in addition to promoting the investment opportunities in the region.

Khalil Al Mansoori, Director of Expo Khor Fakkan, stated that the exhibition represents the ideal platform for both local and foreign businesspeople and investors to review the various investment opportunities that are available in the Eastern region of Sharjah and in Khor Fakkan. He remarked that the exhibition also presents a chance to review a number of foreign investment opportunities for those looking to invest outside the country.

Saeed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Representative Committee of the Real Estate Sector Business Group, stated that the increase in the volume of investment in the real estate sector in Sharjah highlights the trust that it enjoys at the local and regional level, which represent a key focus towards achieving economic stability.

The real estate sector is considered one of the fastest growing sectors in the UAE, with an estimated value of over Dh918 billion ($ 250 billion).

Participants in the activities of the exhibition include the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, the Khor Fakkan municipality, the SCCI, the Department of Economic Development, and Sharjah Islamic Bank, in addition to tens of local and foreign companies that work in the real estate sector.

The exhibition, which is organized by Expo Khor Fakkan in cooperation with Business Link Group, will open its doors to visitors on Wednesday and Thursday from 10 am until 1 pm, and from 5 pm until 10 pm. The exhibition will also be open on Friday from 5 pm until 10 pm.
