Muscat: Those industrial establishments that don't fill in the online survey forms will be required to contact the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to explain their reasons from Tuesday.

The ministry has invited industrial establishments that have not yet submitted their industrial information so far to contact the industrial information department in the headquarters of the ministry or the directorates and departments in various governorates of Oman.

In a press statement, the ministry said: It will start recalling industrial establishments which have not yet submitted their details for the annual industrial survey that was carried out by the directorate general of industries between October 30, 2019, and November 7, 2011."

The ministry had urged the licence holding companies to submit their data electronically through the ministry's “Easy Invest” portal.

This is meant for completing the process of gathering the required data and declaring the outcome of the annual industrial survey.

The ministry would stop dealings with the industries which would not contact the industrial information office before November 21, 2019, and would take legal action on the issue.

Earlier, the ministry has published several news items and advertisements and has contacted the industries explaining the importance of submission of data before the passing of deadline so that the industries do not face legal action and dealings with them are not stopped.

The ministry has expressed its gratitude to the industries which came forward for submission of their industrial data before the passage of the deadline.

This data is important for understanding the exact situation of the manufacturing sector of the country, making strategies, general studies and reports as well as the reports of their performance.

This data would help do follow up of the implementation of plans and strategies.
