Abu Dhabi Future Energy Co (Masdar), Japanese investment firm Marubeni Corp. and Egyptian manufacturing company Elsewedy Electric have agreed to develop 800 megawatts (MW) of wind power in Egypt

* Egypt aims to generate 42 percent of its electricity from renewables by 2025

* Masdar has already developed several solar power plants in Egypt

* Marubeni is currently developing the world's largest solar power plant in the UAE and expanding its renewable energy business but this is its first step into wind power in the Middle East

* Elsewedy Electric produces and sells energy products and services such as cables and transformers, and is also involved in wind turbine manufacturing
