The France Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai is delighted to welcome Les Maisons du Voyage as an Associate Partner. The partnership was a natural decision for both parties, who share the same vision of sustainability and are determined to provide visitors with an experience packed with culture.

The event will now be held from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022.

Erik Linquier, Commissioner General for France at World Expo 2020 Dubai and Chairman of COFREX  and Jean-Emmanuel Chometon, General Manager of Les Maisons du Voyage

Expo 2020 Dubai is the first World Expo to be held in the MEASA (Middle East, Africa and South Asia) region, and will be structured around the theme of “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.” Known for launching innovations such as the telephone, the x-ray machine, touchscreens and the humanoid robot, World Expos offer unique opportunities to showcase culture and innovation on a global scale once every five years. Expo 2020 Dubai is expected to attract 25 million visits and more than 200 participants from different backgrounds, including nations, organizations, businesses, and educational institutions.

World Expos have always been considered as top-ranking international events, alongside the Olympic Games and the Football World Cup. They are also some of the oldest, the first ever being the Great Exhibition, which took place in London in 1851.

World Expos’ objectives has evolved over the years, but their goal is now to enhance international cooperation and the search for solutions to major human challenges. At the most recent World Expo 2015 in Milan, the theme tackled was “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” and the next edition in Dubai will focus on “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”.

Over a six-month period, all the countries in the world will come together to think about the challenges that humanity is facing and how concrete solutions can be found. In light of the current health crisis, this theme is no longer just a suggestion, it is an imperative.

France will echo this need and the France Pavilion will provide an international platform to demonstrate how it is working and innovating on new ideas for mobility that is more respectful of the planet and beneficial to its citizens. Expo 2020 will be an opportunity  for France to develop and show the world a sustainable and united transition. It will show how climate and environmental solidarity on an international scale can also be used as tools for developing our companies internationally. The ecological transition will be the driving force for innovation and progress.

Les Maisons du Voyage share this ecological and united vision, its major priority being to offer travel solutions that respect both people and our planet and comply with the commitments Les Maisons have made since it first began. The travel agency’s dedication was recognized officially when it obtained the responsible tourism certificate ATR (Agir pour un Tourisme Responsable) in March 2020, which underlines its commitment to sustainable travel for the future.

I am delighted that Les Maisons du Voyage has become an Associate partner for the France Pavilion, and would like to thank all the team for their dedication and trust in these difficult circumstances.  I believe that the success of Expo 2020, and that of the French Pavilion in particular also depends on tourism, and that’s why COFREX is committed to ensuring that France’s participation at the event offers its visitors a truly unique experience.

Erik Linquier,

Commissioner General for France at World Expo 2020 Dubai and Chairman of COFREX  at Expo 2020 Dubai and CEO of COFREX

Through the partnership with the France Pavilion at Expo 2020, Les Maisons du Voyage have put together a full program: tailor-made trips, guided tours, group trips or stopovers. The possibilities there are to enjoy this global event are almost endless.  There are also plenty of wonderful opportunities to explore the rest of the region.

Since 1991, Les Maisons du Voyage have been organizing customised travel solutions that encourage their customers to learn more about the countries they visit and the people they meet. Partnering with Expo 2020 was a natural decision for this specialist in Middle Eastern travel.
