Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El-Saeed, announced the allocation of EGP 236 million to support the National Organization for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage’s (NOPWASD) plan to provide electricity to the Bahr El-Baqar wastewater treatment plant.

The world’s largest sewage water treatment plant will produce 5 million cubic metres per day to cultivate 330,000 feddans in East Suez Canal, in addition to 70,000 feddans currently being cultivated, El-Saeed said in a statement on Sunday.

The 190-kilometre drain of Bahr El-Baqar extends from South Cairo, passing through Qaliubiya, Sharkia, Ismailia, Dakahlia, and Port Said.
