MANAMA: Diyar Al Muharraq has appointed Cyprus-based construction and engineering services firm CCT as the main contractor for Al Naseem, its 328,000sqm villa waterfront development.

CCT will be managing several aspects of the project which is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2021.

The scope of work for CCT includes construction of villas overlooking the main canal in the project’s first phase, as well as building secondary infrastructure such as roads, streetlighting, rainwater drainage, sewerage and wired and wireless telecommunications network.

In addition, the company will also carry out marine works such as digging of canals, building of sidewalk walls and locking gates.

During the contract award ceremony, Diyar Al Muharraq chief executive Ahmed Alammadi said, “We are delighted to have on board the highly reputed CCT as the main contractor for Al Naseem project which will provide an exceptional modern waterfront lifestyle. We are confident that the company will meet all the requirements within the project’s set timeframe.”

Launched in late 2018, the Al Naseem project includes over 300 villas overlooking the canal with the possibility of adding a private boat deck for each villa, as well as 500 apartments.

It features 3.2km of waterfront overlooking outer and inner canals which flow across the development.

The project also includes a cinema, sports club, a seafront promenade with shopping outlets, fine-dining restaurants and cafes and a marina.

Also present was CCT chief executive Ashraf Obeid who said: “We are proud to partner with Diyar Al Muharraq which is a great addition to our portfolio and track record of achievements from all over the world. We look forward to working on this pioneering project which will without a doubt provide another dimension of the real estate and leisure offerings for the society.”
